Never too old (or too daft!)

I love this pic my hubby took of me..it makes me feel young! It was my first ever go on a trampoline (at my advanced age :-),earlier this year.
 I have a terrible sense of balance, and every jump in the air was followed by several bounces on my bottom. I just couldn't stop laughing, and he took this photo just before I bounced off the edge! I am posting it on the last day of the year to remind myself how much fun it is to try something new..heres to lots more fun firsts in 2011!

No Oil Painting...

Having follwed a long photshop tut on getting an oil painting effect, and not liking the end result, I tried my own method...just 2 steps..and was really pleased with the outcome. These 2 photos were taken at a local park at the beach..you can see the sea in the distance, and I think the snowy scenes work well as paintings. (did try the effect on a pic of me..the result was, frankly,scary! will have to work on that one..)

Fire in the Sky

Believe it or not, this was the view from my front door the other night! After the grey days we have been having here in England, I thought this quote fit perfectly.

I Spy with my little eye...

I was trying to get a good pic of Cookie, my only fluffy cat, in our backyard. Cookie wasn't obliging, so I turned to go in, and saw Pepsi watching Cookie from the living room window. She looked so suspicious of him...despite the fact he had been in the house next to her 5 mins ago! So I look a few pictures of her instead, and was pleased to find that in one of them I had captured Cookie too!

First food, THEN presents!

Got up this morning to find one of my cats, Pepsi, sitting right on top of my presents. She wouldn't move until she heard the sound of the cat food cupboard opening. Cats have very definite priorities!

Cats Are Like Peanuts..

I only mean to have a couple, honest..but I just couldn't resist! They are all brothers and sisters, 2 from each litter...one pair a year! Unlike peanuts, they are calorie free, but for the last 3 years I have been unable to wear black...not without a generous ginger and white fur decoration!  The names are all thanks to my kids..except for Stanley, who my husband named after Paul Stanley!

A Chair With A View...

Thought I would post a picture of the view from my chair at "work"! I help out in my friends second hand store - "Second Time Around"..Its tiny...no central heating, just one little plug in halogen fire. My day is spent in coat, gloves and 4 pairs of socks (its snowing now, in England!), drinking endless cup of tea to keep warm.
Never the less, I love it! You meet an wild and wonderful assortment of people, (just last week a man rushed in, a dog on a leash in either hand, and his trousers heading for his knees...his zip had just burst, and he needed a shoe lace to hold them up! I found him one, politely declining his request for me to lace it in for him!)  and donations are equally varied...opening a new donation bag is like a mini Xmas.
So this is my view..it changes daily, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

New Years Resolutions...Perhaps!
